For Freeform’s series Motherland: Fort Salem, Picturemill created an eerie opening title sequence that encapsulates the rich history of an alternate reality, wherein witches fight in the United States military. Inspired by the haunting animation style of avant-garde stop motion animators and Civil War quilt memorabilia, we follow the history of this mystical version of the U.S., by seeing how one witch taking a stand at the Salem Witch Trials led to a legacy of military involvement for all witches until present day.
