Years after the cataclysmic event of The Burn, the Federation begins to rebuild, beginning with Starfleet Academy. And these Cadets are the seeds of a new Federation, growing into the next generation of Starfleet officers. Watching over time, we literally see this new Academy and its cadets take root, grow, and blossom into the best version of themselves and Starfleet.

Using blueprints and reference of the Academy buildings, we created naturalistic timelapse scenes of the cherry blossom tree growing that seamlessly transition into the buildings on the Academy campus rising from the ground. As the sequence continues, we see the tree blossom and the petals transform into the cadets, populating the brand new Academy campus.

The emotional journey of these young people and their experiences in Starfleet is echoed in the title sequence. The sequence promises the growth of the cadets from their individual beginnings into a new and strong generation of Starfleet leaders.
