The Big Short
Film
Collaborating with director Adam McKay, Picturemill conceived the single-shot title of the film, starting on a single house and revealing the hundreds of surrounding homes. Picturemill produced and directed the live-action helicopter shoot to capture the incredible impact the housing crisis had on millions of Americans through the visual of the endless housing development.
Working with Led Zeppelin’s When The Levee Breaks, for the end credit sequence, Picturemill created a juxtaposition between the wealthiest of Americans, who benefitted from the lucrative housing market, and the middle class, who struggled and lost it all during the housing crisis.
